3D MODELING

The proposed installation research consists of the research, creation, and project development of a multi-media photo, video, and 3D printed installation that documents Taiwanese street life's unique multicultural and socio-political character through the lens of dream logic, immersive interaction, and interrelation.

The installation comprises a modular, non-linear array of abstract video made from 3D scans, panoramic stitched photography, 3D printed models and kinetic sculpture inpsired from street geography across Taiwan. The installation explores (1.) broad historical political forces that shape Taiwanese street culture (2.) how photography and 3D scanning for video and modeling can serve as a means of storytelling, preservation, collage, poetic documentary, and a potent art form.

The work references street photography, traditional Taiwanese paper art, French decorative sculpture, Chinese porcelain sculpture, Japanese miniature sculpture (Netsuke), and Neo-dadaist collage.
